The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Electronic Computing Center at the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, organized a scientific seminar this morning, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, entitled: “Artificial Intelligence in the Oil and Energy Sector: From Challenges to Smart Solutions.” The seminar featured presentations by Dr. Baqir Nasser Abdul Samad, a guest of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, and Mr. Walid Ishaq Hamid, Assistant Chief Engineer, both faculty members at the Basra Oil Training Institute. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Mustafa Abdul Aziz Mutlaq, an assistant professor at the college.
The seminar addressed the importance of artificial intelligence in the oil and energy sector, focusing on the challenges facing the sector and proposed smart solutions.
