The College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas at Basra University of Oil and Gas organized a workshop on (the mechanism of filling out the performance evaluation form and its requirements for contract employees) this morning, Tuesday, the twentieth of April Dr. Sami Hashim Faleh Al-Saadi, the Dean of the College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas, and a lecturer in the workshop, Eng. Karama Abdul-Jabbar, which reviewed the evaluation axes in the form, the points of each axis and how to achieve them, and the necessity to attach the required firsts of thanks books, committees and posts. Mrs. Sarah F. Ahmed participated in a workshop on intellectual property rights. It dealt with the importance of awareness of intellectual property rights and preservation of the rights of authors in all fields. Continuing Education Center at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized an online workshop about “how the exam is done online’. Assistant Lecturer Montazer A. Al-Lami in college of Industrial and Management for Oil and Gas lectured in the workshop with the participation of more than two hundred lecturers and researchers.
The workshop also discussed how to create interactive classes, steps to create an account on Google Classroom platform, methods of conducting interactive conversations between students and teachers, and methods of making exam and writing questions.

Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas Held a Meeting with Teaching Staff Online
In the presence of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, the Board of the Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas held its second meeting on 21st April, via Zoom Cloud. The meeting Headed by the Head of the Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas, Assistant Lecturer (Uday H. Ali), and in the presence of all faculty members. It was agreed upon a proposal to form a central committee for e-education in the college for each stage, and preparations for the second semester.
The teaching staff was directed towards paying attention to e-education and finding effective ways to deliver the scientific materials while taking into account students and urging them to commit to continuing educational process for the sake of the success of the current academic year.
The Dean emphasized the necessity of holding weekly electronic seminars and workshops. A special committee was assigned to prepare a schedule for every Tuesday in every week under the name of "Knowledge Day", while he emphasized the need to pay attention to scientific research and publishing research in well-established scientific journals in order to improve the scientific research of the college.
The Dean also recommended granting a letter of thanks and appreciation to the teaching staff that published a research in an international journal, or was promoted to a higher scientific rank by using the research published in international and local journals.
The Dean also directed the necessity to encourage the research side of the college’s students, especially the third and second stage, by writing specialized research and taking into account the possibility of publishing them locally or internationally under the supervision of the Deanship of the College.
The Council also recommended that a number of committees should be formed to upgrade the level of college’s website and document lectures.
The Board of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Holds its Third Regular Session Online
The Board of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas held its third regular session for the academic year 2019-2020 online, headed by the Chairman of the board, Assistant Professor Dr. (Sami H. Al-Saadi) and the membership of each of Administrative Assistant Dr. (Nsaif J. Al-Abadi) and head of Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas.
Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yousif, discussed some administrative details related to the college work and the instructions of the ministry and the university.
The Board stressed on the need to continue with electronic education and good preparation by teaching staff and students for the second semester at the beginning of May according to ministerial calendar. Also it emphasized on the need to take care of students by all available means.
Two Students Honored with a Financial Grant Provided by Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation
On 17th Feb, Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a ceremony to distribute a financial grant presented to its students from Mitsubishi Corporation operating in oil sector in Basra.
The ceremony opened with a speech of the Chancellor of Basra University for Oil and Gas (Prof. Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi). He thanked Mitsubishi Corporation for its support to educational sector and the university students in particular. He stressed that the university opens its doors to all companies and institutions that seek to support scientific and research fields.

College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Holds a Meeting with Students of Elite Channel
The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a meeting with students admitted to Elite Channel. On 17th Febr, Administrative Assistant of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Dr. Nsaif J. Al-Abadi, confirmed that the meeting came to explain rights and duties of Elite Channel students.
The students study within that channel is required to obtain a good grade at least for second, third and fourth academic years, regardless of the semester in which they succeed, as well as completing training requirements throughout the academic years.
The Local Government in Basra Supports Basra University for Oil and Gas in Establishing its Own Building in Qurna.
Basra local government announced its support for Basra University for Oil and Gas to have its building in Qurna district. This came during the visit of the second deputy governor of Basra, Dr. Dargham Al-Ajwadi, to Basra University for Oil and Gas.
A meeting was held between Dr. Mohammed Al-Kaabi and Dr. Dargham Al-Ajwadi. They talked about the university strategy to open evening studies and postgraduate studies. They discussed the possibility of providing support from the local government to the university.
Dr. Al-Ajwadi said that the governor made sure that the building project of Basra University for Oil and Gas was part of Basra projects in 2020. He indicated that the local government strongly wanted to establish the university building because it would be an economic and a social engine in north of Basra.
After that, the Department of Construction and Projects reviewed an introductory overview of the university site In Qurna.
Basra University for Oil and Gas Organizes an Introductory Seminar on Measurement, Evaluation and Quality.
Sponsored by the chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi), Basra University for Oil and Gas organized an introductory seminar on (Measurement, Evaluation and Quality) on 11th Feb.
(Dr. Abdul-Hussein Al-Maliki) lectured in the seminar which was held on the conference hall with the participation of a number of department directors and teachers at the university.
The seminar dealt with the importance of the quality of the outputs of the educational process, the necessity to follow up the inputs and processes of the educational process and the importance of adopting statistical means to evaluate the university outputs, relying on the University of Technology as a model for the study.
The lecturer emphasized that it is necessary to carry out procedures for evaluating the outputs of higher education in Iraq and by proper statistical methods to ensure that Iraqi universities carry out their duties correctly.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Abdul-Hussein Al-Maliki was honored for his successful seminar.
The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Ceremony to Honor Students Graduated Cum Laude for the Academic Year 2018-2019
On 5th Feb, College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a ceremony to honor the students who graduated cum laude during the academic year 2018/2019.
The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran and the national anthem, then the speech of the president of the university, in which he emphasized that youth is a basis for building a development society.
The Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas gave a speech on this occasion, expressing his thanks to all those who contributed in that event.

On 3rd Feb, in the presence of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Dr. (Sami H. Al-Saadi) and the teaching staff of the Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas discussed several topics in the forefront of which were the curriculum and the possibility of updating and adding academic vocabulary and in line with the scientific, knowledge and technological development.

ON 19th January, Dr. Mohammed H. Al-Kaabi, The Chancellor of Basra University for Oil and Gas, visited College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas.

The Department of Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas organized a workshop entitled (Six Thinking Hats in Defining Management Styles and Administrative Leaders to Solve Problems
On 4th of Nov., Assistant Lecturer Rafid Kh. Al-Saadi lectured about the role of the Six Hats as patterns of work in organizations, job analysis and their compatibility with employees, job satisfaction and finding solutions to work-related problems by specifying colors for both sides.
The Six Thinking Hats are one of the most important methods of developing creativity in improving creative thinking. They help to give the thinking process its value of time and effort.
Mr. Al-Saadi explained that the six patterns represent the most common thinking patterns among people, the white hat represents digital thinking, which believes in the language of numbers, documents and evidence, the yellow hat represents the optimistic, dreamy thinking style that focuses on the positives, the red hat represents the emotional thinking pattern that It activates emotion and its choices more in all situations, the black hat represents the pessimistic thinking style that focuses on the negatives, green represents the creative thinking style, which is concerned with searching for other alternatives, thinking about things in an unfamiliar and new way, or always giving words an opposite concept, and finally the blue one hat called the process control hat, it represents the pattern of thinking that directs and sets the agenda, plans, arranges and organizes the rest of the operations.

Ahmed spoke at the beginning about (weak communication and lack of clarity between individuals, hate and its repercussions, causes of hatred, a process that leads to suspicion and distrust, contradiction in personalities, way of thinking may be a cause at times, individual lack of understanding of his role, difference between him and the roles of others, difference in principles and values between people leads to hatred, incompatibility of goals or contradiction of needs leads to hatred, difference in ideas about how to achieve common goals, enmities between individuals and doubts and fear of each other may cause hatred).
