The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized its sixth annual conference this morning, Thursday, April 23, 2026, to discuss the graduation research projects of students in the college's scientific departments, for both morning and evening studies, for the academic year 2025-2026. The conference, held under the theme "Graduation Research: A Step Towards Scientific Horizons in the Oil and Gas Industry," featured three discussion sessions during the opening. The first session was presented by a student from the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, the second by a student from the Department of Oil and Gas Management and Marketing, and the third by a student from the Department of Oil Project Management.
The three student discussion sessions were enriched by the presence of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, the heads of the academic departments, faculty members, and fourth-year students from all departments.
The student research—both in the conference's opening sessions and the sub-sessions—focused on various issues related to the oil and gas industry. Many outstanding research papers were presented, written in a rigorous academic style, particularly those written in English, addressing numerous challenges in managing the oil and gas sector. Other research discussed aspects of the oil and gas industry in Iraq in general and Basra in particular. This high quality of research highlighted the importance of the ideas and energy of young people, which can contribute to solving many of the problems facing the oil and gas industry in our country and specifically in Basra.
