The Student Activities Unit at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized the Al-Ameed Five-a-Side Football Championship for the college’s professors and staff. The event took place at Al-Qibla Stadium – University District.
The championship kicked off on Friday evening (April 17, 2026) at 4:00 PM, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, along with faculty members and staff. The tournament consisted of two matches.
The first match, which marked the opening of the championship, was between Faculty Team (A) and Staff Team (B). It ended with a decisive victory for the faculty team, 8–0, with an outstanding performance by Dr. Mohammed Dawood.
The second match was between Faculty Team (B) and Staff Team (A), in which Staff Team (A) won 5–4, with a standout performance by staff member Muneer Abbas Hassan.
The Dean of the College congratulated the winning teams and praised the role of the Student Activities Unit in organizing this sporting event. Meanwhile, the head of the unit, Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Zgheer, emphasized that this championship is part of the sports activities aimed at promoting health and social cohesion among the college’s members.
