Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hilal Hafiz Al-Kaabi, the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas held a scientific seminar on the issue of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the ensuing economic crisis, from its closure until the present day. The seminar, titled "The Closure of the Strait of Hormuz: Economic Risks and Strategic Alternatives," took place on Tuesday morning, March 31, 2026. Four faculty members presented on the topic: the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sami Ubaid Muhammad Al-Tamimi, who addressed the economic aspects; the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, Dr. Adnan Hai Jaaz, who discussed the geopolitical aspects; Dr. Kadhim Rasen Abdul Sahib, who addressed the legal aspects; and Assistant Lecturer Haider Sadiq Kadhim, who discussed the geographical aspects.
