The Media and Government Communication Division and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Industrial and Scientific Management organized a workshop titled "Media's Role in Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption." The workshop was held via Google Meet on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026. Presenters included Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ali Al-Asadi and Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hashim, and the workshop was moderated by Assistant Lecturer Saad Mutair Madloul. The workshop focused on introducing the concept of the executive and financial manager's role in traditional and new media in supporting integrity and combating corruption. This involved responsible handling of public issues and disseminating accurate information to build trust within institutions.
The workshop also delved into key concepts related to officials and financial managers and their relationship to the media's role in exposing them to corruption. It further explored media mechanisms for establishing the principles of transparency and accountability for the benefit of society, in addition to presenting examples of media experiences.
The workshop focused on the transparent role of the media in supporting efforts to combat corruption, whether through keeping pace with the work of oversight organizations or by exposing Netanyahu's professional record, separate from the personal attacks and smear campaigns employed by some disparate bodies.
The workshop also featured interactive discussions between participants and presenters on the most prominent challenges facing journalists and their approach to covering various issues and topics, as well as ways to develop contemporary media discourse, recognizing the media as the fourth estate. This included supporting governmental and Integrity Commission efforts to promote the values of integrity and transparency.
This workshop was announced as part of the college's annual plan to develop talent and promote the concepts of integrity and transparency throughout Iraqi society.
The focus was on enhancing the media's activities related to the importance of its role as a partner and active participant in raising public awareness and promoting understanding of integrity.
