The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas organized an awareness workshop titled "The Dangers of Smoking" on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025.
The workshop was moderated by Assistant Lecturer Esraa Faleh Ghali and featured a lecture by Dentist Dr. Murtada Hassan Abdul-Sahib from the Public Health Department of the Basra Health Directorate. The session focused on the risks associated with both traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes (vaping), describing them as a "deadly epidemic." This workshop is part of a health awareness initiative aimed at combating tobacco use and reducing its consumption among students.
