The Student Activities Unit at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a memorial ceremony for the martyrs of Iraq, along with an exhibition of their photographs — may God have mercy on them — in cooperation with the Martyrs Foundation in Basra on the morning of Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Following the national anthem, Surah Al-Fatiha was recited for the souls of Iraq’s martyrs, who lost their lives as the price of resistance, refusal, and not submitting to the barbaric dictatorial regime that oppressed Iraqis for more than three dark decades. A regime from whose brutality neither children, youth, nor the elderly were spared.
The photographs displayed in the exhibition spoke of only part of the tragedy. And despite attempts to distort positions or manipulate narratives, the crimes of the Ba’ath Party remain among the most heinous crimes committed against humanity, a cursed page in the history of modern Iraq. Through the loyalty of the victims’ families and loved ones, the memory of the martyrs of that era will remain a guiding light for future generations.
