Female faculty members from the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas participated in a training session entitled: “Strengthening Institutional Capacities to Respond to Violence Against Women and Girls in a Gender-Responsive Manner.” The session, organized by the Basra Governorate Office/Department of Women, Family, and Child Affairs, lasted three days (October 29-31, 2025) and aimed to support and empower Basra women and raise awareness. Assistant Professor Dr. Marwa Ibrahim Zaid, Assistant Lecturer Rusel Essam Nouri, and Assistant Lecturer Salwa Hazim Khalaf participated in the training session by contributing papers that addressed reducing violence against women and children. They also added a section on cultivating awareness regarding vulnerable groups in Iraqi society in general, and Basra society in particular.
