Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas / Women’s Affairs Unit held a health awareness seminar titled (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) on the morning of Wednesday, (October 22, 2025).
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Ziyara Khalaf, Director of the Republican Hospital, and presented by Dr. Fatima Hadi Ahmed.
Participants included Mr. Mohammed Hussein Abdul Amir and Assistant Lecturer Rusal Issam Nouri.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the disease to reduce its incidence among women. The key points discussed included:

  • An introduction to breast cancer and how it develops in tissues, along with potential causes such as heredity and age.
  • The importance of self-examination and early detection, and how women can use awareness to identify possible symptoms by visiting health centers.
  • Early signs, symptoms, and physical changes that should be noted.
  • Most importantly, methods of prevention, treatment, and psychological support.

The health and safety of women represent the foundation of a healthy and sustainable society, as community well-being can only be achieved by raising awareness.
