College Delegation Visits Basra Gas Company

A delegation from the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, headed by the Dean, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammad Al-Tamimi, visited the Basra Gas Company on the morning of Thursday, October 16, 2025. The delegation was received by the authorized representative of Basra Gas Company, Mr. Marfa Kazem Al-Asadi.

This visit comes within the framework of mutual cooperation between the two institutions. Mr. Al-Asadi expressed his happiness with this initiative and presented an overview of the company’s work since its establishment up to its current achievements. The Dean of the College described the accomplishments of Basra Gas Company as a journey of continuous growth and progress.

He emphasized the technical aspects of the company's operations, which directly intersect with the academic content taught in the college’s scientific departments. This intersection encouraged both parties to envision future cooperation and identify key areas for joint projects and collaboration to be agreed upon in the near future.

Mr. Al-Asadi, the company’s representative, expressed the company's readiness to support efforts that align with its policies, including:

  • Basra Gas Company is one of the supporters of the academic activities offered by the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, such as the Iraq Energy Forum and the college’s upcoming conference titled: Developments in the Oil and Gas Industry and Their Impact on Sustainable Development in Iraq, scheduled for the second month of the coming year.
  • Contributing to the development of the college’s academic curricula, aligning the materials studied by students with the practical work carried out across all departments of Basra Gas Company.
  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and training courses to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enriching the vision of both academic and technical staff in the two institutions.
  • Finding ways to bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge of the company’s employees and the practical expertise of the college’s faculty.

Upon the request of the Head of the Educational Guidance Unit, Mr. Al-Asadi also expressed his willingness to honor the top students from the college’s departments and promised to visit the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, particularly the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas.
