The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate, organized a workshop on: (Safety Procedures and Risk Management)

The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate, organized a workshop on: (Safety Procedures and Risk Management) on the morning of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in the conference hall at the university, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Muhammad Al-Tamimi, and a number of faculty members, affiliates of the college and its formations. The workshop came in response to ministerial directives in this regard to enhance safety procedures in all university buildings. The workshop witnessed a distinguished presence of administrative staff, the Safety Committee, and Civil Defense personnel. The workshop focused on the importance of safety in the university work environment and the necessity of adopting effective practices to prevent potential risks from accidents, whether in educational and administrative facilities. During the workshop, participants were introduced to the types of fire extinguishers and how to use them during accidents in their workplaces or inside their homes, in addition to introducing the free emergency number (911). The workshop was presented by the training officer at the Civil Defense Directorate, Colonel Ahmed Subaih Jassim, Commissioner Abdul Aziz Muhammad Mohsen, and Commissioner Hani Kazim Abdul Ali. During the workshop, they reviewed a set of basic concepts and procedures related to risk management. It addressed the challenges facing workers in the academic environment and how to deal with them according to methods that rely on risk management. The importance of developing emergency and evacuation plans and continuous training for workers in the educational institution was also highlighted in order to enhance preparedness and response.
