Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, attended the doctoral thesis defense this morning, Thursday, July 24, 2025, for Assistant Lecturer Shajan Jassim Mohammed, a lecturer at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas. The defense was held in the City of Science Hall at the College of Education for Humanities. The defense was part of the requirements for the researcher to obtain a PhD in Political Geography. She presented a scientific study entitled: Hydropolitical Analysis of the Deterioration of Water Resources in Iraq, which discussed the impact of political and geopolitical factors on the water crisis in the country. The attendees, which included a number of academics and specialists, praised the importance of the research and its scientific methodology, expressing their hope that its results would contribute to providing practical solutions to the water crisis in Iraq. They also congratulated the researcher on passing this important academic stage, wishing her success in her professional and academic career.
