College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission/Investigation Department/Basra Investigation Directorate, organized a workshop entitled "Explaining the Integrity Commission Law and the Mechanism for Receiving Information and Reports" on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College and a number of faculty members and college affiliates. The workshop, presented by investigator Mr. Sarmed Abdul Rahim and Mr. Ali Abdul Karim from the Federal Integrity Commission/Investigations Department/Basra Investigations Directorate, addressed the administrative and financial structure, working mechanisms, transparency, integrity, and impartiality within academic institutions.
It also reviewed the Integrity Commission's law, tools for combating administrative and financial corruption, and mechanisms and methods for receiving reports and information. The workshop also discussed the role of the Federal Integrity Commission, the importance of transparency within public sector institutions, cooperation between public sector employees in combating corruption, and supporting the efforts of the Integrity Commission and the Investigations Department in uncovering corruption crimes within government institutions.
Solutions were also proposed to enhance the culture of integrity, transparency, and impartiality and create a safe environment. The workshop highlighted the ongoing cooperation and joint coordination with the Federal Integrity Commission and state institutions in holding workshops and organizing educational seminars for all government employees.
The workshop aimed to highlight the most important laws related to work. It highlighted the importance of holding the seminars to explain the laws applicable to violators, such as the amended Civil Service and Public Sector Discipline Law and related laws that hold corruption accountable.
The workshop included a discussion of promoting a culture of integrity and ethical behavior as key tools for combating corruption, making integrity and transparency an important deterrent to combating corruption, professional behavior, and dealing with cases of corruption.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Sami Al Tamimi, commended the efforts made by the lecturers. The workshop concluded with a number of contributions and opinions from college members, with the lecturers answering all their questions and concerns.
