Within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement between the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at the University of Basra for Oil and Gas and the College of Administration and Economics/Qurna at the University of Basra, and on the sidelines of the celebrations of the College of Administration and Economics/Qurna on the 61st anniversary of the founding of the University of Basra, a scientific symposium was held this morning, Tuesday, on the economic repercussions of US President Trump's tariff policy at the international, regional and local levels. The symposium was held in the central hall of the College of Administration and Economics/Qurna. The Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Muhammad Al-Tamimi, participated with a research paper entitled "Donald Trump's tariff policy: potential economic repercussions and precautionary measures in Iraq." The Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, Dr. Adnan Hadi Jaaz, also presented his paper at this symposium on Trump's decisions and the impact on the international economy. There was also an intervention by the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Management and Marketing, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Rashed. At the end of the symposium, the honorable Dean was honored. Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, as well as Dr. Adnan Hadi Jaaz and Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Rashed, and the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, also participated in honoring some professors from the College of Administration and Economics, Al-Qurna, on the occasion of the celebrations of the founding of the University of Basra, as well as contributing to cutting the ribbon to open the charity market.
