As part of strengthening academic cooperation and institutional development, the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, met on Thursday evening, April 23, Professor Adnan Abdullah Atiq, the President of Southern Technical University.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Atiaf Al-Tamimi, a member of Basra Provincial Council and Chair of Economic Development and Investment Committee. The visit addressed ways to enhance educational and research programs in oil and gas sector, as well as discussing the needs of the local market and the importance of activating effective strategic partnerships.
Ms. Atiaf Al-Tamimi expressed the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and government agencies in supporting investment opportunities in the province, enhancing youth competencies, achieving sustainable development in the investment sector, and developing it in line with the needs of Basra citizens.
Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi noted that College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas offers quality graduates that serve oil and gas industry, as well as economic sector in general.
Professor Adnan Abdullah Atiq also emphasized the role of Southern Technical University in providing modern education and raising the level of technical and administrative personnel to meet the requirements of labor market.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to organize joint workshops and seminars aimed at exchanging knowledge and expertise and enhancing teamwork among all concerned parties.
