The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division and the Computer Center at Basra University of Oil and Gas, organized a training course entitled "Opportunities and Challenges of Electronic Computing in the Management of the Oil and Gas Industries in Iraq" on Sunday morning, April 6, 2025. The course was held under the patronage of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Mohammed Halil Hafiz Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi. The course was held in the Computer Center Hall at the university, with the attendance of a number of first-year students from various departments in the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas. The course addressed the opportunities, challenges, and path of using electronic computing in the management of the oil and gas industries in Iraq and how to deal with them digitally, in a manner similar to oil companies that deal with the oil industry digitally and computerize transactions and dealings, which reduces the effort in producing numbers and statistics. The course aimed to enhance students' understanding of modern computing technologies prevalent across all oil sectors and how to apply them, thus improving administrative efficiency in the oil and gas sectors. The training course, which targets students, also discussed the most important challenges and paths in applying technologies and computing, as well as ways to succeed and advance in the oil and gas industry.
