The Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Chairs Diploma Thesis Discussion on the Importance of Renewable Energy in Achieving Sustainable Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Period 2010-2022

Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas, chaired the committee discussing a higher diploma thesis in the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at Basra University.

The thesis discussed the importance of renewable energy in achieving sustainable development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the period 2010-2022. The research, presented by the student Adyan Khaled, aims to analyze the relationship between renewable energy and sustainable development indicators, assess the status of the Saudi economy, and the challenges of the transition to clean energy. It also offers recommendations to enhance the role of renewable energy in achieving sustainable development.

The research concludes that sustainable development aims to improve everyone's lives and transform the world for the better. Sustainable development indicators are essential measurement tools by providing quantitative and qualitative data that help governments understand challenges and make decisions. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia possesses the second-largest natural resources in the world, with a total value of $35 trillion.
