Under the patronage of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Prof. Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi. The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University of Oil and Gas organized a workshop this morning, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, entitled "Methods and Ways to Combat Financial and Administrative Corruption." The workshop was lectured by Legal Assistant Lecturer Ali Zaidan Qasim. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of combating financial and administrative corruption and to raise awareness among participants about the dangers of this phenomenon and its negative effects on society. * The workshop included a discussion of the concept of corruption, its forms, and the causes that lead to it, in addition to reviewing the efforts made to combat corruption at the local and international levels. * The lecturer reviewed the impact of corruption, types of corruption, and causes of corruption in Iraq, including conflicts, wars, poor distribution of wealth, failure to implement legislation, and the decline in religious and moral awareness, among others. The workshop concluded with recommendations and remedies, including deterrent prosecution of corruption operations, amending legislation, and developing a specific plan with objectives and timeframes, activating the role of the oversight media in various fields, developing oversight work and accountability bodies, preventing the perpetuity of administrations, accelerating administrative procedures for transactions, using the single-window principle, developing and improving the tax system, tightening control over the most corrupt departments, and using the electronic track system for transactions and indirect payment of fees.
