Department of Petroleum Project Management at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas launched a charitable volunteer campaign to distribute food baskets for needy and poor families.
That coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, and it was under the slogan "Volunteering is a National Priority." The campaign, which began on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, saw the distribution of the first batch of "Ramadan Baskets" to some needy families in the center of Basra Governorate.
A number of faculty members, staff, and students participated in the campaign, expressing their commitment to the annual initiative. The initiative reflects national concern for poor families, especially during a holy month like Ramadan, which encouraged communication with people, sensitivity to their needs and concerns, and efforts to help them. The campaign aimed to promote the values of social solidarity and volunteer work, instill a spirit of giving and social responsibility, and strengthen the university's role in serving the community, in addition to providing aid to needy families during the holy month. It as worth noting that those initiatives were ongoing.
