The local government in Basra appreciated the efforts of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, and a number of the college professors for their scientific efforts in holding the scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Tourism in Supporting the Basra Economy), which was held at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at the beginning of this year, in coordination and cooperation with the Culture, Media, Tourism and Antiquities Committee in Basra Provincial Council. A letter of thanks and appreciation was sent to the Scientific Assistant at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Assistant Professor Dr. Nassif Jassim Al-Abbadi, the Administrative Assistant Dr. Haider Ali Karim Al-Asadi, the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, Dr. Adnan Hadi Jaaz, the Rapporteur of the Department of Oil and Petroleum Economics, Assistant Lecturer Issa Jaafar Baqir, and the Head of the Media and Government Communication Division at the college, Professor Hassan Jassim Sebahi. The letter included appreciation for the efforts that resulted in the success of the activities of the scientific symposium, which enhances aspects of awareness and knowledge of the importance of scientific research in developing the economic reality in Basra.
