The Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas is a Member and Supervisor of a Master's Thesis Examining the Impact of Money Velocity on Inflation Rates and Economic Growth in Iraq for the Period (2004-2022)

A master's thesis at College of Administration and Economics at University of Basra examined the impact of money velocity on inflation rates and economic growth in Iraq for the period (2004-2022). The thesis was supervised by the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at University of Basra, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi.

       The thesis, presented by the student (Muhammad Fahd Al-Sharifi), aimed to understand the relationship between money velocity and both inflation rates and economic growth in Iraqi economy on the one hand, and the relationship between inflation and economic growth in Iraq on the other hand. It also analyzed developments in previously identified variables during the study period.

     The thesis concluded that money velocity in Iraq fluctuates between rising and falling, due to changes in its components. The average velocity of money velocity reached (3.1), which meant that demand for goods and services would double by approximately (3.1) per year. The velocity of money velocity also did not It stimulates economic growth and is directly linked to the inflation rate, due to the inflexibility of Iraq's production system.
