Oil Project Management Department team at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas achieved a deserved victory in the final match of the Dean's Cup Futsal Championship after beating College of Medical and Health Laboratory Technology team 4-3 on penalties, after the regular time of the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
The match was held on Tuesday, November 26, at Southern Technical University Stadium (closed hall) and was followed and attended by a number of students and professors. The Oil Project Management students’ team advanced by three goals to one in the first half, before the Medical Laboratories team returned to the match and equalized the score in the second half. The two teams resorted to penalty kicks to determine the winner, as Oil Project Management team succeeded in scoring 4 goals compared to 3 goals for the Medical Laboratories team.
With that victory, Oil Project Management team wins the Dean's Cup Futsal Championship title. At the end of the tournament, Dr. Naseef Jassim Al-Abbadi presented the tournament cup to the first winning team, Oil Projects Management Team. Mr. Al-Abbadi praised the efforts made by the head of Student Activities Unit at the college, Assistant Lecturer Abbas Zaki Abdul Hussein, and all those responsible for preparing and managing the tournament, wishing them success in other tournaments.
