On Tuesday, November 12, a signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas and Al-Hikma University College. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, while Al-Hikma University College was represented by the Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Zainab Talib Al-Sharifi.
The agreement was attended by the Council of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas. The memorandum of understanding was signed with the aim of raising the level of both colleges in order to increase the bonds of cooperation between them and open new horizons of cooperation in academic fields and raise the scientific and research level. The memorandum of understanding included coordinating efforts in the field of developing academic vocabulary and unifying curricula for similar specializations, exchanging books and sources within the joint specializations, cooperating in the field of summer training and supervising graduation projects for final year students, and in the field of scientific research, working on conducting joint specialized research and publishing in journals within global containers, evaluating research, holding joint scientific conferences, joint supervision and discussions for graduate students.
The provisions of that memorandum also included working on using specialized laboratories for scientific research and using sources, books, scientific journals, theses and dissertations. In the field of student activities, there was an agreement to exchange scientific visits and hold periodic scientific debates between students of similar specializations and hold joint sports, cultural and scientific activities, in addition to organizing exhibitions for student scientific products.
In conclusion, to enhance the positive relations between two sides, Dr. Al-Tamimi presented the college shield to Dr. Zainab Al-Sharifi. She also presented a symbolic shield representing Al-Hikma College to Professor Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi. The head of the Missions and Cultural Relations Department at Basra University for Oil and Gas, Dr. Maysaa Nouri Shahab, was also honored for her efforts in coordinating the memorandum of understanding.
