Scientific Seminar Entitled "The Importance of Population Census in Drawing Development Plans for Iraq"

The Scientific Unit at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a scientific seminar entitled "The Importance of Population Census in Drawing Development Plans for Iraq" this morning, Monday 11/25/2024. The Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Economics at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Lecturer Dr. Adnan Hadi Jaaz, lectured in it, and touched on the importance of the population census in drawing economic policies and human development and the necessity of providing accurate and up-to-date data on population numbers and their demographic characteristics, which helps in effective planning for social, health and educational services. Jaaz explained in his lecture that the population census is the most important part of any plans or programs developed by the government, as it prepares it for the ability to distribute development and reconstruction activities among all cities according to entitlement, as it provides real indicators for distributing development projects among various medium and long-term areas, draws economic policies and directs investments. The scientific assistant, the administrative assistant, and a number of professors and students participated in this seminar. At the end of the symposium, the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Naseef Jassim, reviewed in his speech the most important challenges that accompanied the census process and the proposed solutions to benefit from the data in an optimal manner. A number of lecturers and employees participating in the population census also presented their vision of the progress of the census process and its success in various regions.
