The Continuing Education Unit at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a training workshop entitled "Mechanisms and Requirements for Holding Scientific Conferences" on Wednesday 6/11/2024, under the patronage of the President of University of Basra for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision and attendance of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi.
The workshop was lectured by the Director of the Missions and Cultural Relations Division at University of Basra for Oil and Gas, Dr. Maysaa Nouri Shihab, who stressed the importance of holding scientific conferences in evaluating the quality of colleges. She explained that the workshop comes in order to contribute effectively to the success of the first international scientific conference of the College, which is scheduled to be held in 2025.
Miss. Nouri indicated that one of the most important steps for the success of the international scientific conference was planning, setting goals and a clear vision, and choosing effective committees, whether the scientific, preparatory, reception or media committee, and the contribution of those committees to the success of the conference activities, each committee according to its specialization. She explained the lecturer stressed the importance of including scientific activities and exhibitions accompanying the conference days and coordinating with magazines within the global containers to publish accepted and distinguished research and launching an official website for the conference.
She also reviewed the most important paragraphs of the form for holding conferences and the necessity of registering the conference with the competent authorities in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
At the end of the workshop, she listened to the interventions of the members of the College Council, headed by the Dean of the College, who praised the efforts of the lecturer in presenting the useful workshop and the teaching staff who raised many questions and inquiries that serve the success of the first conference of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas.
