The Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Chaired the Discussion of a Master Thesis that Analyzes the Relationship Between Foreign Currencies in the Foreign Exchange System

Discussion of a master thesis that analyzes the relationship between foreign currencies in the foreign exchange system on Wednesday, the twenty-eighth of August. The master thesis was discussed in the Department of Economics at College of Administration and Economics at University of Basra. The thesis was entitled (Analysis and Study of the Mutual Roles between the US Dollar and the Chinese Yuan and their Impact on the International Monetary System) by the student Ayat A. Jassim. The thesis aimed to know the impact of foreign currency trading on the stability of the international monetary system. The thesis concluded that the monetary system depends on the US dollar, which leads to major economic crises as a result of excessive reliance on one currency. Despite that, the dollar still dominates international exchange. The thesis recommended the necessity of preventing a currency war between dollar and Chinese Yuan and using new currencies in international settlements.
