The Legal Division at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a workshop entitled (Rumor and its danger to work environment, how it spreads, and management methods to combat it), under the auspices of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of College. The Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi. Nada Sagban lecturered in the legal symposium, stressed the danger of the spread of rumors and the importance of work to stop them and not be affected by them, noting that some rumors disrupt the conduct of business and cause problems that may reach accountability if they spread. On the general frameworks of professional ethics and effective instructions, she pointed out the importance of being precise in receiving information and dealing with it according to its official sources and not being drawn into misleading information or fabricated news that was published without restrictions or censorship through modern technological means. With the increase in the danger of rumors, the World Health Organization has begun to consider rumors an information epidemic. It threatens the health of individuals and societies. At the conclusion of the symposium, the lecture provided some advice on how to identify rumors and work to stop them instead of circulating them.
