The curtain came down on the Dean’s Cup for the five-a-side student football championship (the third season of the academic year 2023/2024), on Wednesday, the eighth of May, at Southern Technical University Stadium, under the sponsorship and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi and the assistants and heads of scientific departments. The final match that brought together Petroleum Projects Management Department and Oil and Gas Economics Department witnessed a friendly and intense competition between the two parties, which ended in the end with the winning of Petroleum Projects Management Department team (7-5). The winning team was scored by the student Aseel Muhammad (a hat-trick). Student Karar Saeed scored two goals and one each for Mustafa Malek and Mojtaba Ramadan, while the goals of Oil and Gas Economics Department team were scored by student Hussein Yasser (a hat-trick) and Abdullah Muhammad Hassan scored two goals. In conclusion, the team that won first and second place was honored with medals and a championship cup for the students of Project Management Department. The best goalkeeper in the championship was from Oil Projects Management Department team (Zain Al-Abidin Mohammed) and the best player in the championship (Hussein Yasser) were also honored. On the sidelines of the closing ceremony, a number of those in charge of the championship were honored in appreciation of their efforts to make the matches success.
