College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Seminar on Safety Procedures in Projects

Department of Petroleum Project Management at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a symposium entitled (Safety Procedures in Projects) on Tuesday, the nineteenth of March, under the patronage of the President of University of Basra for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami O. Al-Tamimi, and the symposium was moderated by the Head of Oil Projects Management Department, Assistant Lecturer Rafid Radhi, and the safety supervisor from Daewoo Company, Mr. Yousef Ahmed, lectured. He spoke in the symposium about safety at the worksite, the definition of safety at the worksite, its importance, and the cost of work accidents on the individual and society. He also explained the laws and legislation related to safety at work and risk assessment, as well as defining risks and their types, methods for assessing risks at the work site, and how to develop plans to control risks. He also talked about the most prominent personal safety equipment, types of personal safety equipment, how to use personal safety equipment correctly, and the importance of maintaining safety equipment personality and public safety practices. The researcher reviewed general safety rules at the work site, how to deal with hazardous chemicals, how to deal with emergency situations, and the role of management in achieving safety. He also touched on the responsibility of management in providing a safe work environment, the importance of training workers on safety, and ways to investigate accidents work. At the end of the symposium, the researcher was honored in appreciation of his scientific efforts in presenting the symposium.
