College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Symposium on the Topic of Green Supply Chain Management

The Department of Petroleum Project Management at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium entitled (Green Supply Chain Management) on Tuesday, the twelfth of March, on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, and under the patronage of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami O. Al-Tamimi. The head of Oil Projects Management Department, Assistant Lecturer Rafid Kh. Radhi, as well as two students Tabarak Abdul Hassan and Fatima Aqeel, lectured at the symposium. The symposium aimed to shed light on the concept of green supply chains, which include upstream and midstream, downstream and the use of modern technologies and tools associated with the environment, including green procurement, green production, green transportation, green consumption, reuse and recycling, which reflects positively on the environmental impact and pollution. The symposium showed that the importance of managing green supply chains lies in that they play an important role in industrial institutions in aspects many of them include reducing environmental pollution by reducing the volume of industrial waste and protecting the environment from environmental degradation through the use of environmentally friendly materials.
