On the Occasion of National Afforestation Day, College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Launches a New Afforestation Campaign to Support the Environment

To activate the role of universities in serving society and achieving sustainable development goals, in accordance with the urban afforestation guide prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, corresponding to March 12 of each year, the College of Industrial Administration for Oil and Gas launched an urban afforestation campaign to reduce negative environmental impacts on civilians. By planting trees and shrubs adapted to Iraqi environment in order to reduce temperatures and for a sustainable, green and more aesthetic environment. The volunteer campaign witnessed the participation of college professors and students, taking into account the benefits of a green environment and the environmental impacts achieved by this campaign in order to encourage volunteer work that serves our environment, as afforestation is better. An effective means of reducing air pollution resulting from various factors such as dust and dirt, and through afforestation, environmental pollution can be reduced, as planting trees is one of the most important components and factors of preserving the environment and thus preserving human health.
