College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes the Annual Ceremony on the Occasion of International Women’s Day and Commemorates the Sacrifices of women in Gaza

College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with Women’s Affairs Division at Basra University for Oil and Gas, organized the annual ceremony on the occasion of International Women’s Day and under the slogan “Women and Building Economic Development in Iraq” on Sunday, the tenth of March, in the central conference. The divination of the ceremony was conducted by the assistant lecturer, Fatima Hadi. The ceremony was opened with a verse from the Holy Quran, recited by the employee (Muhammad Baqir), and then listening to the anthem National and reciting Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine. The occasion speech was presented by the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi, during which he emphasized the increasing role of women in recent years and their entry into all fields and even their distinction, stressing that they are the true half of society and the contributor to building true to Iraqi human being, with all the authentic values that Iraqi women carry from ancient times until our contemporary time. Al-Tamimi recalled the sacrifices made by the women of Gaza. Then it was the turn of the female students to speak on this occasion, presented on their behalf by the student Tabarak Fouad, during which she emphasized that women share with men in leading the joints of life. Diverse and even the emergence of many success stories among women, as Iraqi women are patient, sacrificial, and distinguished in all the fields and fields in which they exist. After that, a documentary film was shown about International Women’s Day, then a success story was presented by the student Mayamin Abdel Razzaq, and after that, she presented poetry readings praising women, their patience, and their role in society. The last event was with honoring a number of female employees at the university, in addition to honoring the college’s female students who are married and mothers, in appreciation of their important role and their continuous sacrifice for a more beautiful future. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Engineer Karama Abdul-Jabbar extended her thanks and praise to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the annual festival, whether they were female employees or students. She stressed that the college intends to organize another celebration in the coming days on the occasion of Mother’s Day.
