College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Scientific Trip for its Students to Basra Gas Company

College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a scientific trip for the students of the first stage in the scientific departments (morning study) to the Basra Gas Company. The students were accompanied by the scientific assistant, assistant professor Dr. Nassif Jassim Al-Abadi and the head of the Management and Marketing Department of Oil and Gas, Dr. Uday Hussein, the Head of Oil Projects Management Department, Assistant Lecturer, Rafid Khader, as well as the teaching staff, Russel Essam. After the students toured the company’s corridors and departments, a workshop was organized for the students at Basra Gas Company’s headquarters, in which a number of company officials were present. The engineer touched on Firas Al-Mansouri in his lecture on Basra Gas Project in general, as he presented a summary of the company’s work and its affiliated locations in Rumaila, West Qurna, and Umm Qasr, and the most important future plans for gas investment. Khalid Al-Diwan explained how to manage projects and the most important global characteristics of project management in the gas sector and the possibility of developing them. The stages followed for each project and following the global priority system in selecting those projects. Professor Ahmed Abdel Karim also touched on the economic role in evaluating projects and the most important methods of economic calculations used in the oil sector, while lecturer Haneen Abdel Karim explained the most important projects that Basra Gas Company seeks to achieve, especially the gas project. The coolant in Umm Qasr and the possibility of exporting it by following the latest international methods and how to manage it professionally.
