A Lecturer at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Participates in a Workshop on Mathematics and Project Management Development

The teaching staff at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed A. Al-Rashed, participated in a workshop on mathematics and development of project management, finance and investment, which was organized by College of Management and Economics/ Qurna at University of Basra in cooperation with Iraqi Mathematical Society and Al-Anwar Center for Development and Education, under the slogan “Mathematics is a pillar of development and sustainability in project and investment management” on Thursday, the eighth of February, as Al-Rashed participated in his research titled (Building a proposed quantitative model for planning and sustaining intellectual capital in business organizations using the Shannon Entropy approach).

The workshop included discussion of a number of research papers participated in the workshop by researchers in various specializations such as economics, management, accounting, finance, and mathematics. The committee preparing recommendations for the workshop recommended several recommendations, including: the necessity of relying more heavily on mathematical methods and methodologies in conducting scientific research in the faculties of administration and economics to obtain more accurate and effective conclusions, as well as the necessity of activating teaching methods based on cognitive and perceptual delivery methods in a more intensive manner. Al-Rashed was honored at the conclusion of the workshop for his scientific efforts.
