Women's Empowerment Unit at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Participates in a Workshop on Protecting Women from the Phenomenon of Violence

The head of Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Assistant Lecturer Russel E. Nouri, participated in the workshop to discuss the integrated program for protecting women from the phenomenon of violence, which was held by the Department of Women’s Empowerment, Family and Children’s Affairs at Basra Governorate Office, in cooperation with Basra Police Directorate and Al-Firdaws Iraqi Association. The workshop held on Thursday, the eighteenth of January, in Basra Governorate Court Hall. The workshop comes to provide support and protection to women and empower them, referring to the mechanism of cooperation between security agencies and civil society organizations. Nouri stated that the program that was launched through that workshop would include how to deal with and address issues of violence against women, as well as spreading awareness and education through posters, posters and awareness programs to reduce that phenomenon.
