College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Scientific Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Applications and Effects of its Misuse

College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium on artificial intelligence, its applications, and the effects of misuse, in which Dr. Mustafa A. Abboud lectured, on Tuesday the sixteenth of January, and under the patronage of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi. Under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sami O. Al-Tamimi. The researcher presented a brief introductory overview of the history of artificial intelligence, its developments, types of artificial intelligence, methods of learning artificial intelligence, applications of artificial intelligence, and the most important negatives and positives of artificial intelligence. Dr. Mustafa touched on the dark side of artificial intelligence as a result of incorrect use with many examples in daily life. He also reviewed the uses of artificial intelligence in scientific and research aspects and the oil and gas sector and the necessity of employing it in the optimal way to serve humans and not the other way around. The symposium witnessed several interventions from the teaching staff who participated in attending the symposium.
