The head of Women’s Empowerment Unit at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas/Basra University for Oil and Gas, Assistant Lecturer Russel Essam, participated in the workshop dedicated to discussing the enforcement of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Law No. (27) of 2009, which was organized by Women’s Empowerment, Family and Child Affairs Department in Basra Governorate Office. The workshop was held in the hall of Iraq Ports Company, in accordance with the directives of Council of Ministers regarding energy support and reducing emissions. Miss. Nouri indicated that the law aims to protect and improve the environment by removing and treating the damage existing or occurring in it and preserving public health, natural resources, biodiversity and cultural heritage. Naturally, in cooperation with the competent authorities to ensure sustainable development and achieve international and regional cooperation in that field.
