College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Symposium on the Importance of Occupational Health and Safety Management and its Great Opportunities in the Labor Market

The Department of Oil and Gas Economics at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium on the importance of occupational health and safety management and its great opportunities in the labor market, on Tuesday, the fifth of December, in the central conference hall and under the patronage of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas and Under the supervision of the Dean of the College. The lecture was attended by the Director of the Microscope Technology Company for Training, Development and Information Technology, Engineer Ali Asaad and Engineer Zain Al-Abidin Murtada. The symposium was moderated by the Head of the Oil and Gas Economics Department, Lecturer Helen Nima Al-Maliki, and the two lecturers explained the meaning of occupational health and safety. What is the importance of occupational health and safety in workplaces, especially oil companies, and why companies must adhere to the occupational health and safety system. They stressed the necessity of the specialization and work to develop it in the theoretical and practical fields because it reduces problems in different work environments and even at the life level. The symposium also witnessed a discussion at length with the attending students who confirmed their benefit from the industrial safety management course in knowing the main pillars of occupational safety, especially in the oil and gas sector. At the end of the symposium, the Dean of the College, Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi, appreciated the efforts of the lecturers by honoring them with certificates of appreciation and a college shield.
