Bao Organization and Basra Governorate Office, in cooperation with Women’s Empowerment Unit at College of Industrial Administration for Oil and Gas, Organized a Workshop to Discuss the Juvenile Welfare Law of 1983.

Bao Organization, Iraq Branch, and Women’s Empowerment Department at Basra Governorate Office, in cooperation with Women’s Empowerment Division at Basra University for Oil and Gas. Women’s Empowerment Unit at College of Oil and Gas Industrial Management, held a workshop to discuss the Juvenile Welfare Law of 1983 in the conference room at the College on Thursday, the twelfth of October. The lawyer Adnan Al-Samer, on behalf of Basra Bar Association, lectured. The workshop addressed the problems of children and their exploitation and the necessity of enacting legislation that is compatible with the current changes related to childhood problems and their protection by all official bodies. The lecturer stressed the need for effective protection and developing their abilities at all levels with the aim of keeping them away from danger and crime, as they are the pillar of society and its future. They must be preserved to preserve the societal and family fabric and in order to create a healthy generation that follows sound foundations that are compatible with the values of Arab and Islamic societies. The head of Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College,  Assistant Lecturer, Russel E. Nouri, said that the workshop was part of a series of upcoming workshops, seminars and activities organized by Women’s Empowerment Unit at the college and coinciding with the new academic year.
