College Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Launched a New Planting Campaign Reaching more than 1,000 Trees to Support the Environment and the Beauty of Basra.

To activate the role of universities in serving society and achieving sustainable development goals, in accordance with the urban afforestation guide prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Basra University for Oil and Gas/College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas launched the first phase of the urban afforestation campaign to reduce the negative environmental impacts on civilians by planting trees and shrubs adapted to the environment. Iraqi University in order to reduce temperatures and for a sustainable, green and more aesthetic environment. The campaign sponsored by the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad H. Al-Kaabi, and the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami O. Al-Tamimi. He stated that the volunteer campaign witnessed the participation of professors and students from the college. It will be in stages, taking into account the benefits of plants, the location of planting, and the environmental impacts achieved by this campaign in order to encourage volunteer work that serves our environment. Afforestation is the best effective way to reduce air pollution resulting from various factors such as dust and soil. Through afforestation, environmental pollution can be reduced, as planting trees is one of the most important components and factors for preserving the environment and thus preserving human health.
