College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized an awareness symposium entitled (The Road to the Abyss ... From Pornography to Homosexuality). On Wednesday, the ninth of August, at the central conference hall, and under the auspices of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Kaabi and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Dr. Sami Al-Tamimi. The scientific assistant Dr. Nassif Al-Abbadi, lectured at the symposium. The researcher touched on the reasons for the spread of homosexuality and who is targeted, indicating that this phenomenon represents a humanitarian catastrophe for safe and peaceful societies, especially those societies that believe in religious and moral values. The researcher reviewed the positions of religions that forbid and prohibit such behavior based on evidence and texts that confirm the prohibition and ugliness of these disgraceful behaviors. Useful things, hobbies and useful talents that develop the youths’ energies, establishment of intellectual centers that contribute to awareness and immunity programs for all segments of society and the promotion of the role of family and its values in cooperation with educational institutions in the country. Finally, the symposium concerted on official and legal efforts to ban such behaviors and deal with caution with some Western terms that come to our societies.
