College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Topic (The Impact of Climate Change on Human Comfort and Health in Basra Governorate)

Department of Oil and Gas Management and Marketing at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with Division of Continuing Education and Student Activities, organized a scientific symposium entitled (The Impact of Climate Change on Human Comfort and Health in Basra Governorate). On Thursday, the tenth of August, in the conference hall and under the auspices of Mr. President Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Kaabi and under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College Dr. Sami O. Muhammad. The assistant lecturer Haider S. Kazem lectured, and referred to the changes that occurred in the digital data of the climatic elements affecting comfort and human health and the causes of the natural changes. The researcher relied on two climatic cycles of the major type, which lasted 33 years, from 1950 to 2022, to give a clear picture of the changes that occurred during that period, as the focus was on the maximum, minimum, and average temperatures, as well as relative humidity rates and wind speeds, since those elements are considered. The researcher also calculated the human heat gain rates by means of radiation kilocalories / hour during the night and day and the effective temperature index, as well as calculating the amounts of perspiration grams / hour during the night and day for the two climatic cycles and finding the numerical differences between them.
