A teacher from the College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas receives a doctorate on the role of financial and monetary policies in addressing oil shocks

The instructor at the College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas, assistant teacher Adnan Hadi Jaaz, received a doctorate in economics for his thesis tagged (the role of financial and monetary policies in addressing oil shocks in Iraq for the period 1973-2019) in the Department of Economics, College of Administration and Economics / University of Basra, which took place this morning, Thursday, the ninth of this June, and in the presence of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi. 1973-2019, which included several oil shocks that had an impact on the Iraqi macroeconomic variables and thus knowing the role of the two policies in facing those shocks by analyzing the data of the most important variables such as (oil revenues, general government spending, household consumption, investment, money supply, nominal exchange rate and parallel, the trade balance with and without oil) and the study concluded that the fiscal and monetary policies were in line This means that their effectiveness was low in dealing with the negative effects of negative shocks or benefiting from positive shocks. After the researcher defended the content of his thesis and what was stated in it, the committee decided to grant him a doctorate with a grade of (very good) amid the joy of his family and relatives.
