College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas Organizes a Scientific Symposium on Biofuels

The Department of Oil and Gas Economics at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium entitled (Biofuels) on 14th Dec. Under the supervision of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Dr. Sami Al-Saadi) and the head of oil and gas economics department, Mrs. Helen N. Hattab. Two students at oil and gas economics department Umalbaneen Salah and Fatima Salman lectured. The symposium reviewed the concept of biofuel, which is defined as a liquid fuel produced from plant materials because of the rise in oil prices. It can be produced at anytime and anywhere on the earth so it contributes in developing the rural environment. Its combustion does not cause environmental problems due to the cleanliness of this source and its lack of harm to the environment or the climate, thus raising the hopes placed on it to rid the world of current environmental problems. The two researchers also mentioned the uses of biofuels. It is used for the production of transportation fuel as well as the use of petroleum products, as well as for the manufacture of vital products made of plant and animal materials. At the end of the symposium, the discussion was opened for the audience.
