Department of Oil Projects Management at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium entitled (Creative Thinking). , under the patronage of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas. Two students in department of Oil Projects Management Umm Al-Baneen and Manar Kazem lectured in the symposium that ran by the assistant lecturer Rafid Khader. It showed creative thinking strategies, the most important of which are:
the development strategy that aims to bring about change or add things to one of the tools, the what-if strategy that refers to imagining an unreal event, the defects strategy which means identifying something and clarifying its negatives, and the mixing strategy which indicates thinking about two things. As well as clarified ways to develop creative thinking by taking risks and playing the role of cynic at times and regularly asking for reasons Or producing a large number of ideas, questions and meditation from daydreams and reading books, all of which contribute to becoming a creative thinker. The obstacles to creative thinking were also reviewed, which include the absence of purpose, fear of failure, making mistakes, fear of rejection, ridicule and criticism. At the end of the symposium, both students were honored with a book Thanks and appreciation from the Dean of the College, Dr. (Sami Hashem Faleh Al-Saadi), for his keenness on the efforts of students and motivating them to participate in new seminars during the current academic year.
