The Department Management and Marketing of Oil and Gas at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas at Basra University for Oil and Gas organized a scientific symposium entitled (The Missing Links in Iraqi Economy). The symposium touched on several issues, the most important of which are the reality of Iraqi economy, the most important problems and challenges it faces, the reasons for the backwardness of Iraqi economy and the lack of development despite the availability of resources. Al-Abadi also included the most important missing links in Iraqi economy that needed to mobilize resources in order to advance the wheel of development and achieve prosperity. The lecturer reviewed the most prominent proposed solutions to address Iraq’s economic situation, and in turn, Idan stated the importance of diversifying the sources of materials in Iraq and not relying on oil only. Rather, the possibility of developing the industrial and agricultural sectors to face any disruptions that may occur to industry.
