On 5th Sept, College of Industrial Administration for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with Basra Health Department / Division of Public Health Promotion, organized a scientific symposium on importance of vaccination to reduce epidemic. The symposium held under the patronage of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Kaabi, and the supervision of the Dean of College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sami Al-Saadi. Dr. Raya H. Abdul-Imam lectured in the seminar introducing Covid-19, its effects, and importance of vaccination to reduce the pandemic. The lecture urged the attendees to prevent epidemic by taking the vaccines approved by Ministry of Health and importance of vaccination before the new academic year starts.
The lecture showed the types of vaccines and how they help to avoid infection and reduce the risk of infection. Dr. Raya also mentioned to the attendees the preventive measures and raising personal immunity through several things, that individual must do to maintain his public health. During the symposium, the administrative assistant Professor Dr. (Youssef Al-Asadi) mentioned the instructions of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding prevention of Covid-19, including the need to take the vaccine to protect everyone.
