College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organizes a workshop on scientific research and publishing mechanisms in global containers

On 4th  July, the Department of Oil and Gas Economics at College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with Al-Furat Al-Awsat University, organized a workshop on “scientific research and the mechanisms of dissemination in global containers” under the patronage of the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Prof.  Muhammad Al-Kaabi. The workshop held under the supervision of both the Dean of the college assistant professor Dr. (Sami Hashem Al-Saadi) and assistant professor, Dr. (Ali Najah Kazem Al-Shamani), who is a scientific assessor for Scopus and Clarvet magazines and a head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Department in Al-Forat Al-Awsat University, via Google Meet platform,

The workshop aimed to identify the methods of writing sober scientific research in a systematic manner. It  clarified the mechanism of publishing solid scientific journals to raise the evaluation of the college researchers in a manner befitting their scientific status .The workshop dealt with the structure of scientific research and writing it in reputable scientific journals, the mechanism of writing scientific research, and revealing whether or not reputable scientific journals.

The researcher explained the importance of examining international scientific journals by checking the international numbering of the journal (ISSN) and making sure that the journal’s research published on (Google Scholar) website. You can verify that by taking the name of the journal and placing it in (Google Scholar) to make sure that the journal exists. It is important to ensure that the magazine is rated on the DOAJ website and to ensure that the magazine is rated in Scopus.

The workshop also discussed the importance of scientific research and publishing research in solid international journals within the containers of scopus and clarivate.  The researcher reviewed the special websites that refer to those journals and their difference from counterfeit journals for verifying the scientific journal before proceeding with publication and avoiding journals with a fake or forged effect factor (Misleading Metrics).
