The College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, in cooperation with the Volunteer Work Committee at the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, organized a volunteer initiative in community service entitled (Eid Clothing for Orphans) in conjunction with the approach of the blessed Eid al-Fitr. The initiative was held on Wednesday evening, March 26, 2025, when Eid clothing was presented to a number of orphaned children in the Al-Hussein neighborhood. Dr. Haider Ali Al-Asadi, Head of the Volunteer Work Committee at the University of Basra for Oil and Administrative Assistant of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, confirmed that this initiative was with the voluntary participation of a number of professors, employees and students of the college to contribute to serving the community, especially the segment of orphaned children, as they are the ones who deserve to have happiness and joy drawn on their faces with the approach of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

The Afforestation Unit at Basra Oil and Gas University, in cooperation with the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, organized a celebration on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, in accordance with the initiative of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the patronage of the President of Basra Oil and Gas University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Muhammad Al-Tamimi, and in the presence of the Ministerial Committee for the Follow-up of National Afforestation Day, Dr. Ali Taqi Hassan and Dr. Muhammad Riyadh Abdul-Razzaq. The campaign was held on the morning of Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with the participation of the Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Muhammad Al-Tamimi, the Scientific Assistant at the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Nassif Jassim Ali Al-Abadi, the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Haider Ali Karim Al-Asadi, and the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, Dr. Adnan Hadi Jaaz. The campaign was attended by a number of professors, staff and students of the college, as a number of seedlings and flowers were planted in the college gardens, which promotes the concepts of preserving the environment and developing everything that promotes providing a suitable environment for the college’s staff and students. The initiative received praise and commendation from the ministerial committee, which also contributed by planting flowers and trees. The celebration of Tree Planting Day also included an awareness campaign on the importance of tree planting and the hanging of posters and leaflets that emphasize the need for everyone to pay attention to these initiatives that contribute to promoting the positive aspects of the environment and thus reflecting on the lives and health of all individuals.
